Note the dark line that exists under the door. It is called filtration soil, because
the carpet acts as a filter. It will also occur next to the baseboard in hallways, around
the border of drapes, and down the sides of stairs. It is associated with air pollution
and may cause color loss. Removal is possible, but will require strong chemicals and
a lot of work.
