Browning Reports

Either wicking or cellulosic browning from a jute backing causes browning; however, Browning from Dog Oil did not fall into either category.

  • To have cellulosic browning, there must be cellulosic material in the carpet such as a Jute-backing such as in the case of Browning from Jute Backing.
  • Wicking looks just the same as cellulosic browning, but there is no cellulosic material in the carpet. Browning From too Long Drying is about this type of problem.

Both conditions are also consider cleaning problems.

  1. Browning from Jute Backing This report is about a water damage turning the carpet  yellow due to cellulosic browning from the jute.
  2. Browning From too Long Drying This report was done for a carpet cleaner, where wicking took place.
  3. Browning from Dog Oil This report was commissioned by the carpet cleaner and there was something likened to cellulosic browning on the carpet.
