Color Loss to Bleach ResearchBleach will make spots that are lighter than the surrounding carpet and will create irregular edges in the area that it was spilt. CLOROX type bleach will also leave high alkaline pHs and can also be more positively determined with a bleach test kit.
Mixing hydrogen peroxide and acidic acid will make per-acidic acid that can also destroy the color of the carpet and will leave an acidic pH. If small spots appear without chemical residue, then there is a slight chance that a defect in the carpet dyes may exist. Such defects could be detected through laboratory testing for color loss in Nitric Oxide in high humidity. |
