Delamination Reports

When the secondary backing falls off a Tufted Carpet you have delamination. This condition is generally due to defective latex from the carpet maker. However, dry-solvents or prolong wetness can also create the problem. When it happens on new carpet, it is generally from a latex formula that has too much clay & filler or the latex has not been applied evenly.

  1. Delamination at the carpet's edge This report was done for the carpet dealer and because there was a repeating pattern every three feet, trimming the edge would destroy half the carpet.
  2. Delamination From Latex This inspection was commissioned by the carpet mill and the installers discovered the delamination during the installation.
  3. Delamination from Water This report was done for the carpet mill and they backing was loaded with filler.
