Fading Reports
Fading is a color loss in a wide spread area as opposed to a 'Spot or Stain' that
occurs in a localized area and is caused by light or atmospheric gases and sometimes from
cleaning. The reports in the menu above are purely fading; the ones below could fall into
another category too.
- Fading 3 cycles AATCC 164
This report was done for the dealer and went against the
mill based upon three cycles of AATCC164, fading to oxides of nitrogen.
Fading from NO2, tests recommend This report was
written for a carpet mill.
Fading
four-inch Line This report was done for a consumer where a roller in manufacturing
caused a latent defect with the dye.
Fades from artificial lighting This
report was commissioned by the cleaning company and showed the fluorescent lighting to be
the cause of fading.
Faded But Passed All Lab Test This
was a consumer inspection who did get some money from the manufacturer.

- Fading Green to Blue This inspection
was done for a consumer and was unusual because the yellow dye was defective. This report
is an example of fading to ultra-violet light which has a ASTM Standard.

report was done for an insurance company and is about the problems of cross-dye systems.

report was commissioned by a carpet mill where an olefin carpet was found to fade due to

pictures until they read the report. It was difficult find a category for this report.
