Shedding Reports

Shedding is when filaments completely break away from the yarn. On staple yarns, it is a normal condition that should last no more than six months. However, there are two reports in this section where ultraviolet light degradation of yarn lead to a condition like shedding.

  1. Shedding went Away This report was done for the carpet mill and finds no fault with manufacturing, but there again there were no latex test done.
  2. Fuzzing Should Self Correct This report was done for the carpet mill and finds no fault with manufacturing.
  3. Nylon Degradation from Ultraviolet Light This is not your typical shedding problem. The home builder was the commissioner and the carpet past the test for ultraviolet degradation.
  4. Ultraviolet Light Degradation2 This is nylon degradation problem. The carpet mill was the commissioner and the carpet did not pass the test for ultraviolet degradation.
