Side Match Reports
True sidematch is due to a difference in color at the seam; however, texture
variations, seam peaking, and turning panels can make a similar problem. The reports in
the menu above are purely Side Match; the ones below could fall into another category too.
Side Match from Hue Differences
The manufacturer originally reported that the carpet was from one roll and dye lot. Latter
they changed their minds.

This report was done for the carpet mill.
- Side Match from Peaked Seams This report
was done for the carpet mill and the The side match problem in the carpet in question was
due to problems inherent in the installation.

The panels were too wide.

Match from Shading This report was done for the carpet mill. The problem was similar
to Pooling.

Match from Ultra-Violet Reflection This report was done for the mill and the
reflections were likely from seam sealer. Not a classic sidematch report.

Match From Pile Compression This report was done for the carpet mill and the faceyarn
was shaded on one panel.
- Fades to Sidematch This report was done for a
consumer who won in court against the dealer and mill. The judge read the analysis out
load in the court room.
- Pile Height Difference at Seam from
Manufacturing The pile height was not the seam on each side of the panel creating a
sidematch.
