Specification Reports

When there is problem with a carpet, but there are no defect with it or the installation and there was a better choice, then there is a problems with specification. In addition, the party making that choice is responsible party in a law suit. The reports in the menu above fall into this category; the ones below can fall into another category too.

  1. BNC  Vs Staple This report was done for a homeowner who want the same carpet as they had before. However, the carpet mill had switched from staple to continuos filament nylon and the new carpet did not feel as thick.
  2. Twist Loss from Cable Yarn This report was done for the general contractor and Cable yarn is 'Singles Yarn' with a slight twist. It is very fat and is not heat set. This yarn look like a Berber at first, but after a small water damage, it stuck up and loss all of its twist.
  3. Design Flaw Olefin & Nylon This report was commission by the cleaner and the manufacture mixed nylon and olefin.
  4. LKQ for an insurance company was commissioned by the insurance company and went against when they replace a nylon carpet with a polyester.
  5. Specifier Over Sold 3rd Generation Nylon The homeowner who is the commissioner of this report, was told by the dealer that the carpet was ‘bullet proof’. It turned out that the carpet was a forth generation nylon/olefin sisal.
  6. Over Sold Protection The manufacturer commissioned this report. The carpet was sold as being bullet proof, but it was a third generation nylon.
  7. Price Comparison between Old and New Carpet The homeowner who is the commissioner of this report, was involved in an insurance claim and he did not feel that he got the same qualify carpet. He didn't and there were lots of installation errors.
  8. 'U' shape spot This report was done for an insurance company and there is an issue about 'LKQ'.
  9. Seam Peaking on a ENHANCER BACKING The manufacturer commissioned this report and it was installed over an asbestos subfloor.
  10. Wear Problem Carpet Over Sold This report is about a fourth generation nylon carpet and soiling and crushing were normal.
  11. Yarn Slippage no Defect The claimant in this report had the option to get a carpet with better tuftbind, but elected not to. When they complained about pulled yarns, there was no defect found.
